The Chariot is the soul of the individual coming down to the earth
from the other side, symbolically represented here as Outer Space, to  begin a new journey in physical form in the physical vehicle. The Chariot is the body, the vehicle that houses the soul. The red horse and the blue tiger represent the different temperaments and choices we have to work with to help lead us in our world. Symbolically the Charioteer has no hands, because his hands are the beasts leading the Chariot. He is in full control of his impulses, or maybe not. The Chariot strives to understand the deeper self by having come back to the source. Remembering who you are and where you are "really" from. In this way, the Charioteer is able to steer in the correct direction of one's life's goals and purpose. To understand and to be in balance, body, mind, and soul then one is able to steer the Chariot correctly. One must learn to rein in the impulsive animal natures and to hone the gifts of the indiviual temperaments of the red horse and the blue tiger.
Only then may we join the path to our truth and the golden opportunities that await in our path.
